I’m Carolina Leal, an experienced audiologist with a career spanning clinical practice, teaching, research and quality assurance across both adult and paediatric audiology. My journey in audiology began in Brazil, where I graduated in speech and language therapy and audiology from the Federal University of Minas Gerais. I moved to the UK in 2004 and in 2006 began working at the Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital in London where I developed broad experience across a range of audiology services.

Over the years, I became particularly interested in paediatric audiology and cochlear implants, working with children and families at different stages of their hearing journey. I later completed my MSc in Advanced Audiology at University College London, where I also worked and contributed to teaching and training, supporting the development of future audiologists. Alongside my clinical and academic work, I work as a UKAS Technical Assessor, assessing adult and paediatric audiology services against the IQIPS standards. This focus on quality, safety and continuous improvement is central to my own clinic, Carolina Leal Hearing Solutions, which is registered with the Care Quality Commission.

My academic interests continue alongside my clinical career. I am currently undertaking a PhD at the University of Cambridge, researching how children with cochlear implants perceive and process complex sounds.

I founded Carolina Leal Hearing Solutions to bring all of that experience together in one independent clinic, with a focus on time. Time to listen properly, time to understand the person or child behind the test results, and time to explain and decide together what happens next. Today, I provide independent audiology services for adults and children in Leamington Spa and surrounding areas, including hearing assessments, hearing aids, wax removal, tinnitus support and assessments for listening difficulties / auditory processing disorders. My aim is expert care in a friendly, reassuring and unhurried environment.
